What sort of vehicle do we travel in?
At every destination, your vehicle will be air-conditioned, spotless, and professionally maintained. Your private driver is fully licensed, insured, and highly experienced. For added comfort, we provide vehicles with ample space for both passengers and luggage. Vehicle type depends on group size: sedans or minivans (7 seats) are used for up to 4 travelers, large vans or small coaches (12–22 seats) for groups of 5–12, medium coaches (33–37 seats) for 13–25 people, and full-size coaches (45+ seats) for parties larger than 25.
How flexible are Abz's itineraries?
You may adjust your itinerary free of charge at any time before your booking is confirmed. We’re glad to tailor it to your preferences.
Any changes made after your booking confirmation has been issued will incur a handling fee of $25.00 per request. Please note that modifications to the departure date or destination may also result in cancellation charges. All changes depend on availability and cannot be guaranteed.
- Abztrip reserves the right to adjust your tour itinerary if flight schedules, ground transportation, or circumstances beyond our control require such modifications. In such cases, any increase or reduction in tour costs will be calculated and charged or refunded accordingly. If the changes are requested by you, any additional costs must be paid in advance.
What time will we be picked up from our hotel each day?
You should confirm the next day’s schedule with your guide at the end of each day. In general, tours begin at 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. If you need to catch an early flight, your guide and driver will arrange pick-up at the appropriate time to ensure you arrive at the airport on schedule.
Can we get a tour guide who can speak our language?
Most of our tour guides speak English, the primary foreign language in China. We also have guides who speak other languages, including German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, and more. When booking your tour, please let us know if you have specific language requirements so that we can do our best to accommodate your needs.
Do I need tour guides when traveling in China?
If this is your first time traveling in China or visiting new regions, we recommend having a tour guide. Without one, you’ll be on your own, whereas our professional guides are local experts who can share valuable insights and knowledge about the places you visit.
Does the quotation you offer include tipping?
No, the quotation we provide does not include tips, as tipping is a personal choice.
How about a taxi in China?
In most Chinese cities, taxis are widely available and are usually painted red, yellow, or green. Fares differ from city to city but should be posted on the taxi window, and drivers are required to use a taximeter. Since most taxi drivers do not speak English, it’s best to have your destination written in Chinese to show them. Be sure to request a receipt or note the taxi number in case you accidentally leave something behind.
How can I know who will be my tour guide when I arrive at the airport or railway station?
Our guide will meet you at the arrival gate of the airport or railway station, holding a welcome sign with Abztrip and your name on it. This way, you’ll be able to recognize your guide easily upon arrival.
I have booked a private tour, but why bus transfers were provided during my tour?
A “Private tour” means you will have a private car, van, or bus, along with your own guide and driver, for sightseeing in each city or destination. However, it does not include private transportation between cities. Instead, flights, trains, ships, or public buses will be used for intercity travel, whether on a Group tour or a Private tour.
For example, if you take a Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang, you may then need to take a bus from Yichang to Wuhan. In this case, we can arrange private transfers in both cities: from the boat to the bus station in Yichang, and from the bus station to the airport in Wuhan. Please note, however, that the bus from Yichang to Wuhan is a public bus shared with other passengers.
If we have lots of free time and don't want to stay in hotels, what can we do?
If you have extra free time and prefer not to stay in the hotel, you have a couple of options:
Take a city or area map, along with your hotel card and your guide’s mobile number, and go explore on your own.
Join one of the optional tours we and our guides offer in each city or area.
Do I need to tip my tour guide and driver?
Tipping is not a common practice in China, but it is always appreciated. Local tour guides and drivers see tips as recognition for their good service. The suggested amount depends on the size of your group and can be divided equally among members. If you are unsure about the appropriate amount, you can contact your travel consultant for guidance.
Tell me something about your tour guides.
Our well-educated tour guides speak fluent English and are eager to share their knowledge with you. Friendly, experienced, and attentive, they are fully capable of ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable China tour, even in unexpected situations.
What are the luggage regulations for taking a domestic flight?
The luggage allowance for adult and child passengers is as follows: 40 kg for first class, 30 kg for business class, and 20 kg for economy class. Infants holding an infant ticket are allowed 10 kg of luggage. The maximum size for any piece of luggage is 100 cm × 60 cm × 30 cm. Oversized or overweight luggage will incur a fee of 1.5% of the adult economy fare per additional kilogram. Sporting equipment may be checked in, provided it meets the weight limit and does not exceed 158 cm in total linear dimensions.
Please note that luggage regulations may vary when using combined transport services with different airlines. Always confirm the details with your travel consultant before departure.
What is the airport tax in China?
For domestic flights, airport tax or airport construction fees are approximately 70 CNY for flights within 800 km and 120 CNY for flights beyond 800 km. Infants or babies (with a ticket costing 10% of the full fare) are exempt from airport tax. Children holding international tickets pay the same airport tax as adults. International departure tax—including flights to Hong Kong or Macau—is 90 CNY (about US$13).
Since September 1, 2004, airport taxes have been pre-collected with the airfare. Therefore, our quotations include airport taxes whenever domestic flights are part of your booking.
Is your guide always at my service during the tour?
In most cases, our guide will escort you to board the train or see you off at the airport security checkpoint. At your next destination, a guide will meet you at the terminal exit, so you don’t need to worry about being alone. If you would like additional accompaniment during free exploration outside the itinerary, we can arrange this for you for an extra fee.
