FAQ - How to Book a Private Tour in China

  • Who travels with China Abztrip?

Most of our guests are English speakers, primarily from the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, though we also welcome travelers from many other countries. Our tours are led by knowledgeable English-speaking guides, and in certain cities, guides fluent in other languages can be arranged upon request.

Our journeys are designed for people who appreciate history, culture, fine food, and the chance to discover local regions while enjoying a flexible style of travel. While we are delighted to host first-time travelers, a large number of our guests return to travel with us again and again.

  • How long have Abztrip been in existence and are you registered with any tourist organization like ASTA, for example?

Abztrip is an officially licensed China tour company, a member of IATA (International Air Transport Association), PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association), and ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents), with registered membership IDs on file.

  • What kind of tour(s) can I get from Abztrip?

Your tour will be completely private. From the moment you arrive, your personal guide will meet you at the airport or train station, accompany you throughout your journey, and see you off when it’s time to depart for your next destination. During sightseeing and transfers, you won’t be grouped with other travelers, except in situations where it may be unavoidable.

  • Do you have children-friendly tours?

Each family has its own travel preferences. Our China travel experts are dedicated to creating personalized itineraries and activities tailored for families with children. We also provide:

  • Kid-friendly meal options.

  • A licensed, safe driver with a private vehicle in every destination.

  • A thoughtfully paced tour designed to match your children’s age.

  • Friendly, caring, and responsible guides who are great with kids.

  • Do you handle tours to other countries other than China?

Abztrip is an online travel brand dedicated to providing private tours in China for travelers from around the globe. At present, we focus exclusively on inbound travel to China, while future expansion to other exciting destinations is on the horizon.

  • What are the benefits of a private tour?

On a private tour, you have the flexibility to decide where to spend more or less time, as long as the schedule remains on track. Because of the personalized nature of private travel, your local guide is not only there to lead the tour but also becomes a true travel companion, creating a far more enriching experience.

  • How to plan my China trip with you?
  1. Submit an inquiry through our online form, letting us know your preferred travel dates, trip duration, destinations, number of travelers, and any other details that will help us design the ideal China tour for you.

  2. Once we receive your request, one of our experienced China travel consultants will contact you by email with a customized proposal.

  3. You can review and adjust the proposal until it perfectly matches your expectations. When you are satisfied, we’ll calculate the total cost and provide the tour price. If you’re happy with it, simply confirm your booking.

  4. To secure your reservation, a deposit of about 30% of the total price is required (or full payment if you prefer). As soon as the deposit is received, we will immediately arrange all bookings according to your itinerary.

Just share your travel ideas with us, and we’ll take care of everything else—delivering quick responses, thoughtful planning, fair prices, and worry-free service.

  • What is the difference between Private tours and SIC tours?

Private tours are comprehensive, fully guided packages. Throughout your stay in China, you’ll have a professional guide who speaks your language and a private car with a skilled driver in each city. From your first arrival to your final departure, they will look after you—handling airport or train station pick-ups, guided sightseeing, and seeing you off at the end of your trip. The only exceptions where you’ll join others are on the Yangtze River Cruise and Li River Cruise.

By contrast, SIC tours (seat-in-coach tours) require sharing a large bus with other travelers. One English-speaking guide and a coach driver take care of the whole group, so your personal needs may not be addressed immediately. The main benefit of SIC tours is their lower cost, but the itineraries are fixed and lack flexibility.

  • What kind of tour(s) can I get from you?

We provide a variety of tours to suit different travel styles. Our package tours are carefully crafted by experienced travel experts, featuring pre-arranged routes, itineraries, and prices. Each package is fully escorted, meaning that in every city you will be accompanied by your own professional, language-speaking guide and enjoy the comfort of a private air-conditioned car, van, or coach with a dedicated driver. From the moment you arrive at the airport or train station to the time you depart for your next destination, everything is taken care of.

All of our tour packages are flexible and can be customized to match your personal interests. We know that every traveler is unique, and so are their expectations. That’s why our goal is always to work closely with you to design a perfect, tailor-made tour of China that reflects what you truly want to experience.

Simply send us an email with your preferences—where you’d like to visit, what you’d like to see, and the kind of activities you enjoy. Our expert consultants will create a personalized plan just for you, ensuring a travel experience that is both memorable and meaningful.

Special Note: For groups of more than 10 travelers, we can provide a private nationwide escort (a professional tour guide) who will accompany your group throughout the entire journey across China, ensuring seamless travel and dedicated service.

  • When are the peak season, shoulder season, and low season in China?

Based on our experience, the peak travel season in China falls between April–May and September–October, when the comfortable weather makes for an enjoyable trip. However, this also means that hotels, flights, and other travel resources are in higher demand, so early booking is recommended.

The shoulder season occurs from June–August and November, while the low season runs from December through early March.

For Tibet, the peak season is slightly later, from July to October.
